How to Store Artisan Cakes
Storage Guide
Artisan cakes, without artificial preservatives, require special care to maintain freshness and flavor.
Ideal Temperature
- Cream cakes: Refrigerator (2-5°C), consume within 3-5 days
- Dry cakes: Room temperature in airtight container, up to 7 days
- Fruit cakes: Refrigerator, consume within 4-6 days
Freezing
Most cakes can be frozen for up to 3 months. Wrap individually in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Thaw slowly in refrigerator.
Signs of Deterioration
Do not consume cakes that show:
- Mold or strange spots
- Sour or unpleasant smell
- Slimy texture
- Expired date
